Two days after a whiplash launch that saw Filecoin’s FIL token rocket plunge 118% before a nearly 80% slump, the blockchain-based data storage platform is now turning into a weeklong digital conference hoping to get the ship back in order .
The event, known as “Filecoin Liftoff Week,” focuses on education, infrastructure, interoperability, and future plans for the project. The five program days start on October 19, 2020 and have a different topic each day, such as B. “Build” and “The Future”.
High profile speakers include ConsenSys founder Joe Lubin, who will be in a fireside chat about “Bridging Filecoin and Ethereum”, and Internet Archive founder, Brewster Khale, who will discuss “the importance of data retention”. Other speakers will be Aave CEO Stani Kulechov, Codefi Head of Product Corbin Page and Olaf Carlson-Wee, founder of Polychain Capital.
The “Mine” day on October 20th will be a special highlight for prospective miners. The program is dedicated to the Filecoin mining talks, workshops and panel discussions. Filecoin’s mining system offers greater rewards to miners who give storage space to the network. Independent miner Benjamin Hoesjbo will also offer a tutorial.
Community members were also encouraged to submit their own “events and celebrations” to be included in the official program. The participants can see the complete programming here.
The event comes when the FIL asset seeks a bottom after hitting a high of $ 158 on October 15th. It is currently trading at $ 42.52.
Despite the slump, the Filecoin team remains optimistic about the project’s future prospects.
“This is just the beginning for the Filecoin network,” read the blog post accompanying the announcement.
